At last night’s Oscars, Zoe Saldaña captivated viewers as she showed up on the red carpet with an extraordinary piece of Cartier High Jewelry – the breathtaking Panthères Versatiles necklace. As a Friend of the Maison, Saldaña chose this one-of-a-kind creation to complement her Saint Laurent gown, embodying the spirit of timeless elegance.
The masterpiece, a true testament to Cartier’s savoir-faire, features a striking panther motif, its stylized head and body intertwined with a vine-like cord of onyx and diamonds. At the heart of the composition lies a mesmerizing 10.10-carat Zambian emerald, guarded by the legendary feline. The bold and versatile design showcases Cartier’s unparalleled artistry – not only as a statement necklace but as a transformable piece of jewelry that can be worn in multiple ways.

Crafted over incredible 4,827 hours – spanning 34 months – this singular creation stands both for technical mastery and artistic vision. The necklace seamlessly turns into an original piece of shoulder jewelry by incorporating a second strand adorned with a twin panther head. It can also be wrapped elegantly around the wrist, transforming into a bracelet. The panther’s piercing emerald eyes add a special appeal to this already outstanding piece.
Saldaña and her stylist, Petra Flannery, personally selected the necklace in a private meeting with Alexa Abitbol, Director of Cartier’s High Jewelry Workshop, at the Maison’s legendary boutique at 13 Rue de la Paix in Paris. Speaking about the experience, Saldaña shared her excitement:
