The perfect winter hair.

As part of this special draw, we talked with Bastian Casaretto, Artistic Director of AVEDA, who shared some advice on the perfect winter hair with us:

When do you think our hair needs more care – summer or winter?
Both. In summer, the hair may need more care because of sun and water damage, but in winter, the hair needs more moisture because of dry air and cold. Aveda’s Nutriplenish range is the best choice for this.

What are most people doing wrong regarding their hair care in the cold season?
They don’t give their hair extra moisture. If you think about skin care, you do that – you use a more intensive moisturiser, for example. Unfortunately, only a few people think about the fact that hair can also become brittle or electric due to the cold. Moisturising products are also very important for stylability. The Nutriplenish Mask in Deep is best suited for this. The beauty of the Nutriplenish series by Aveda is that you retain the volume despite intensive care.

What is your personal number 1 advice for healthy hair in general?
Regular visits to the hairdresser are essential to trim the ends. It is also advisable to use heat protection for styling as well as care products tailored to the hair in question.

How are the products contained in the Botanical Repair winter care kit used correctly?
Shampoo the hair with a small amount of Botanical Repair Shampoo, then rinse thoroughly. On lightly towel-dried hair, apply a hazelnut-sized amount of Botanical Repair Conditioner to the hair, comb through and rinse very thoroughly. Then before styling, apply a small amount of the Leave-In-Conditioner to the lengths and ends. Work in, comb through and style as desired.

Does the kit contain anything for dry scalp?
No, but Aveda’s new Scalp Soltuions range will be launched in February.

Is the kit suitable for women and men?
Yes but especially for people with longer hair!

What do you think is going to be the hairstyle trend for christmas time this year?
A beautiful and easy hairstyle is the following: slightly loose and playful waves, pinned back with fringed strands on the face.
