Creativity Served: Air Max Muse Turned Dining into an Act of Expression

Three creatives brought the essence of the Air Max Muse to life, turning fashion, jewelry, and dining into an immersive showcase of imagination. The Muse Collective Dinner unfolded like a multisensory performance, where every detail reflected individuality and style. Guests discovered one of the season's standout pieces – the Air Max Muse – reinterpreted through daring aesthetics and the vibrant energy that makes it unique.

“Just do it” – a phrase that carries motivation, simplicity, and determination all at once. First introduced in 1988 in a Nike commercial featuring long-distance runner Walt Stack, it quickly grew into one of the most recognized slogans worldwide. And it couldn’t have been a better fit for the Muse Collective Dinner, held this week at Coco Boule in Kreuzberg.

At the gathering, hosted together with Zalando, Nike set the stage not simply to showcase a sneaker, but to explore how creativity, identity, and craft intersect in today’s culture. More than just a sneaker release, the Air Max Muse embodies Nike’s ongoing vision to merge innovation with cultural expression.

The evening brought together a collective of artists and designers, who invited their own circles to come together and celebrate this very special moment. Selected pioneers from the worlds of art, fashion, and urban culture – including culinary artist Diana Quach, the fashion duo behind SF1OG (Rosa & Jacob), and jewelry designer Asterisk Zan – used the dinner to not only celebrate the new sneaker model but also invite guests into their personal creative worlds.

Guests were asked to put overthinking aside and instead just do it – channeling their own creativity in the process. The evening included interactive workshops, culinary experiences, and hands-on activities to celebrate what the Nike Air Max Muse embodies in its very name the power to inspire and to spark self-expression.

Berlin-based fashion label SF1OG is known for merging nostalgia with contemporary craftmanship, weaving stories through materials that carry history. By using antique fabrics, upcycled deadstock, handmade components, and custom-developed textiles, their designs reimagine the future while not forgetting the past. This layered, detail-driven approach is what resonates with the visual language of the Nike Air Max Muse. The sculptural lines and mix of textures are what reminds us of SF1OG’s future-thinking designs. As the designer Rosa puts it: “I found it very inspiring to look at the dynamic shapes and layers of the Nike Air Max Muse design that are special yet easy to wear and comfortable. That’s also what our pieces should resemble; intricate design that moves with the body.” The collaboration between local Berlin creatives and globally operating Nike sparks new conversations about innovation and how it often happens when worlds collide. Inviting SF1OG to add to this evening truly is a statement of how Nike approaches craftmanship and community in their design.

Self-taught Jewelry designer and Korean photographer Asterisk Zan offered guests the chance to craft another personal piece. For him, jewelry-making is not only an artistic practice but also a form of meditation and healing: An act of fluidity.  Every curve, texture, and line shaped subconsciously, embracing imperfection as beauty. His approach mirrors the spirit of the Nike Air Max Muse, a design that celebrates movement, transformation, and bold individuality. It’s in this intersection of personal craft and global design language that something new emerges: a shared creative space where brand and artist speak the same fluid, future-facing language. That ethos guided his jewelry workshop at the dinner, where, as he put it: “That evening, I wanted to share this idea with the guests through the evening and the jewelry workshop, that creativity isn’t about fitting into one mold, but about embracing change, fluidity, and the unexpected beauty that comes from it.” The collaboration resonates on a cultural level, not just a visual one.

“When I first saw the Nike Air Max Muse, I connected immediately with the idea of transformation and fluid identity. For me, creativity is about movement, shapes shifting like nature does, and identities flowing beyond fixed definitions. The design of the shoe resonated with that spirit: bold, organic, and future-facing while still holding a sense of timelessness.” – Asterisk Zan

In between, food stylist and culinary artist Diana Quach invited guests into her Chef + Curator Experience, where traditional Vietnamese dishes became interactive canvases. She approaches cooking the way others approach fashion design and styling: as a medium for storytelling, identity, and creativity. The combination of Vietnamese traditions and modern aesthetics was translated into an interactive experience where guests were able to immerse themselves by actively taking part in the creative process of making their own food. Encouraging others to express freely and find the beauty in abstract shaping really mirrored the way the Air Max Muse invites individuality through its design.

“I still remember when I first saw the Nike Air Max Muse in Silver Metal. I was like wow ok, Nike doing their thing, I really like this one. Rooted in that classic Air Max Technology but bold colourway and new design. It felt like heritage meets newness. Also the fact that it’s a women centered shoe made it even more special. It reminded me of how I approach creativity in my own craft. As a woman constantly pushing boundaries through food, I saw a reflection of that same energy in the shoe.” – Diana Quach
