YSL Le Vestiaire des Parfums: A Tribute to Couture and Creation

During an exclusive masterclass, we were invited to explore Yves Saint Laurent’s Le Vestiaire des Parfums, a collection that transforms the couturier’s legacy into an olfactory wardrobe. Much like Saint Laurent himself, who revolutionized women’s fashion with his bold, androgynous silhouettes and liberated approach to femininity, the collection celebrates empowerment, sensuality, and timeless elegance. Each fragrance reinterprets a piece of his couture heritage, blending art, fashion, and fragrance into one daring expression of style.

The latest addition, Muse, captures the very essence of creation. Inspired by the scent of ink and the memory of Yves Saint Laurent’s muses, it pays homage to the designer’s artistic process. Crafted by perfumer Marie Salamagne, Muse blends mysterious inky notes with soft iris and warm Bourbon vanilla, creating what she calls “a skin fragrance that explodes.” It’s intimate, powerful, and evocative, much like the women who inspired Saint Laurent’s vision, from icons like Catherine Deneuve to the many creative souls who defined his era.

Rooted in the designer’s revolutionary spirit, Le Vestiaire des Parfums translates YSL’s couture codes into haute perfumery. Each fragrance whether Tuxedo with its spicy, warm patchouli, or Blouse, Caban, Saharienne, and others embodies the attitude and allure of an iconic garment. Each is crafted by world-renowned perfumers such as Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Quentin Bisch, and Alberto Morillas, translating Saint Laurent’s aesthetic into scent, bold, sophisticated, and subversive. 

Expanding beyond perfume, the collection now includes luxurious body washes, and elegant range of scented candles, bringing the YSL spirit into every facet of daily life.

The sleek bottle, designed by Suzanne Dalton, mirrors couture craftsmanship. Together, these creations invite us to experience the unmistakable spirit of Yves Saint Laurent eternal, elegant, and endlessly inspiring.
