ELECTRONIC MUSIC MEETS BRUTALIST ARCHITECTURE

 

The Cologne based collective BRUTALISM is doing their 8th event in Gottfried Bohm’s brutalist St. Gertrud church in Cologne. Kali Malone, who is a composer and musician primarily working with pipe organ, chamber ensembles, and electroacoustic formats, will present a rare electronic live set alongside live sets by STRUKTUR as well as BRUTALISM residents Dornen and Lomi. Besides that, there will also be an exhibition in the crypt by Rosalie Becher.

 

BRUTALISM is a cultural research platform exploring the intersection of electronic music and material structures. Founded in 2015, their projects evolve between conceptual event formats and releases that explore parallels between sound design and brutalist aesthetics.

TOM FORD’S AW26 COLLECTION

 

The language of seduction that lies at the core of the TOM FORD name evolves with the Autumn-Winter 2026 collection and campaign, a study of emotion and character, celebrating the beauty of individuals of every age and from different walks of life.

Footwear takes center stage as codes are reiterated – reinforced. These include an elongated, pointed toe – sometimes with a narrow, square edge – a slender stiletto heel, a glossed or criss-cross construction and a gender fluid attitude, all expanded upon through new silhouettes and – always – elevated materials.

The Selen family moves forward with fresh interpretations, the Vertigo collection expands with the introduction of a D’Orsay pump and a thigh-high boot. The new Cassia ankle strap sandal introduces a refined evening silhouette distinguished by an embellished thong. Heels are ultra-high: designs are stripped away at the sides and finished with the instantly recognizable TOM FORD T.

Through images as pure as the clothes, the wardrobe these women wear communicates who they are. That is nowhere more transparent than in their choice of footwear. Infused with a sense of lives lived well, with the spirit of wild times past and anticipation for the future, awareness is expressed in dress. Captured either alone or in groups, each person’s individuality is highlighted – respected – all as they interact. They have in common past flirtations with debauchery, but now stand tall – unfiltered, defiant.

G-STAR X TOMBOGO LAUNCHING THEIR FIRST UNISEX JEANS

 

G-Star is continuing the row “THE DENIM”, and for their forth collection they are doing a collaboration with the design- and innovation studio TOMBOGO from Los Angeles. THE DENIM 004 emerged from an everyday moment: Tommy Bogo saw a pair of harness boots with striking strap fastenings and wondered how this principle could be translated onto a pair of jeans. A visit to the G-STAR archive gave the idea its direction. Historical hardware and iconic utility silhouettes formed the foundation for the final design. Strap-and-buckle elements, concealed pockets, a multi-part construction, and distinctive metal hardware give the jeans their technical character. In this way, THE DENIM 004 unites TOMBOGO’s progressive design language with G-STAR’s utility DNA.

EINDER EXHIBITION BY BORIS ACKET IN AMSTERDAM

 

Measuring approximately 80 meters long and 25 meters high, and powered by 400 fans, EINDER will transform the Centrale Markthal into a constantly shifting landscape. The system is precisely programmed, yet what happens overhead can never be entirely controlled. Air currents collide, gravity pulls and turbulence interrupts, turning every movement into something new. Behind this seemingly elemental encounter sits an intricate technological system: hundreds of ventilators, light and control protocols working continuously to produce and manipulate something as simple and ancient as moving air. The installation is going from the 21th October until the 1th of November 2021 and was created to mark the 30th anniversary of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), standing as one of the festival’s most ambitious art projects to date.

 

EINDER originated from a collaboration between audiovisual artist Boris Acket and longtime friend, DJ and producer Elias Mazian. The idea came to life through Mazian’s own interpretation of his Dutch titled album ‘Vrij van Dromen’ (De Vlieger / Job Jobse, 2020); when listening to it he saw these endless repetitive natural patterns; the surface of water, lush fields of long grass dancing in the wind. Acket started searching for a way to generate and emulate natural patterns on stage and came up with a design involving a series of engines and fans able to manipulate the shape and movement of a large piece of fabric.

SELF BY CLAIRE KORON ELAT AND SHELLY LEA REICH

 

SELF, curated by Claire Koron Elat and Shelly Lea Reich, is opening at Galerie Kramer in Paris on September 28. The exhibition can be viewed each day from 11am-6pm until October 1. Works by Kristoffer Borgli, Sonny Hall, Pouria Khojastehpay, Noémie Ninot, Yury Belyavskiy, and sounds by F1LTHY will be exhibited.

BALKAN EROTIC EPIC. THE STAGE VERSION

 

Maria Abramovic is coming back to Berlin to present us after the eponymous BALKAN EROTIC exhibition in Gropius Bau THE STAGE VERSION at Haus der Berliner Festspiele from the 13th-17th of October.

More than 30 singers, dancers, and musicians shape a sequence of scenes that oscillate between celebration, prayer, and liberation. Bodies perform a feverish ritual, writhing on the ground in a desperate cry for fertility. Women massage their bare breasts to awaken the earth, or expose themselves beneath the open sky to ward off storms. Eroticism appears here not as titillation, but as a primal force – a language beyond shame, morality, and control.

Balkan Erotic Epic is more than a performance – it is an incantation. Drawing on her 2005 video work of the same name, Abramović unfolds a powerful new piece about female energy, shame, desire, and the relationship between body and history. Following its premiere as an immersive performance in Manchester in October 2025, the Performing Arts Season 2026 presents the stage version of Balkan Erotic Epic in Germany for the first time.
