Fräulein Crush: Prada Symbole Bag

vor 2 years

There are items that we like, and there are items that we love.

THERE ARE ITEMS WE COLLECTIVELY LAUGH OVER, BOND OVER, SWOON OVER, AND THERE ARE DEFINITELY PIECES WE ARE SINGULARLY OBSESSED WITH.

This beautiful Prada Symbole handbag, patterned in black green is a representation of the Codes of Prada. Looking vintage and luxurious at once, it’s inspired by Prada’s iconic Triangle. Drawn from Prada’s heritage, the bag is reinvented for today, where the Triangle, alone, says Prada. The campaign was created by three artists. Catherine Opie, Thomas Ruff and Carrie Mae Weems, iconic and powerful names whose works have rarely printed in the form of a fashion campaign. They create works that explore the blurred boundaries between art and fashion through multi exchange. Hunter Schafer is the face of the campaign and the images become character studies of Hunter Schafer, and the Symbole composed of triangles. Opie’s work revolves around the body, identity and new codes of beauty. Her images seem to mold Schafer into a series of triangles, merging woman and object. Ruff reinterprets finished images, distorts and manipulate reality-the objective value of a photograph. Weems connects her images to concepts of identity, representation, projection – concepts of  transformation and courage. Geometric, modern, multi- faceted, this campaign and elegant handbag are a wordless statement of Prada’s unmistakable persona.
