FRÄULEIN PRINT #2/2020: THE SUN’S BRIGHT LAMP

vor 4 years

Aviya Wyse’s mystical photographs reveal vulnerabilities intertwined with power and strength.

For years, art photographer AVIYA WYSE (born in Israel, 1988) has explored the transition from the world of the living to the realm of the dead. Reminiscent of seances, her images also archive the diversity of human physicality. In 2018, Vogue ranked her among the 100 most inspiring artists worldwide.

In the print issue, we feature some of her newest work, alongside the poetry of Italian Percy Bysshe Shelley. His literary poles- love and freedom- combine beautifully with the storms and light that Aviya brings to her imagery.
