For decades, we've associated sound with movement: crowded dance floors, late nights and the collective energy of people losing themselves in music. But sound can also do the opposite. It can regulate our nervous system, soften the constant noise in our minds and gently guide us back into our bodies. Words by Thiên Ân Therese Kunz, Photography by Eva Luise Hoppe This idea became the starting point for our new event series, created by Fräulein and Inan Batman. Last Monday, we hosted our second Sound Bath, after our first one in July, as the closing event of Inan’s 72 hours Festival, a platform dedicated to bringing together creativity, culture and community through new experiences. The Soundbath was hosted at Soho House Berlin, the cornerstone of the creative community in the cultural district of Mitte. The Soho Gym offers bright and spacious studios, features TechnoGym and Life Fitness equipment, hosts weekly classes and offers personal training. High above the roofs of Berlin with a beautiful view on the city and the TV Tower, the atmosphere felt peaceful and calm, the studio provided the perfect setting for an event dedicated to slowing down and connecting with your mind. Guests arrived in the late afternoon and gathered in the lounge before stepping up the stairs to the gym, buzzing with excitement for the next few hour. Conversations between familiar and new faces unfolded naturally as the guests stepped into the studio together. That sense of connection has always been central to Fräulein. With our Sound Baths, we wanted to create a space where women can come together – not to perform, but simply to pause, breathe and reconnect with themselves and one another. Waiting beside every mat were carefully prepared goodie bags containing a body wash by Susanne Kaufmann and our current issue, At Peace – the editorial starting point from which this event had grown. The session was guided by Jeena Wav, who also hosted our first Soundbath. It began with calming sounds of chirping birds and slow breathing exercises, allowing everyone to settle into the present moment before the first frequencies filled the room, accompanied by singing bowls. The sounds helped us to slow down, to listen closely to our heartbeats and allowed us to release any built up tension in our bodies. Tension, that has built up, that is stored in our muscles because of all the stress and fast-paced everyday we experience. Tension, that we don’t notice we carry around with us. Deep ambient sounds joined the slow sounds of the singing bowls and the chirping birds, creating a peaceful harmony and a heavy but calming atmosphere that filled the room. For Jeena, sound meditation is a beautiful tool for the nervous system, the body, the heart and the mind – it takes the brain out of fight-or-flight mode and resets it back to its natural rhythm. Both Jeena and Inan searched for a new relationship with music, a new way of connecting, healing and arriving, allowing yourself to arrive in the present. The wish for the Fräulein Soundbath was beautifully simple: to allow everyone to take a deep breath and to simply put themselves first. The session ended with some last deep breaths, finding inner peace before slowly opening our eyes again. It had turned dark outside already, reminding us of the time we spent together but nobody seemed to want to leave. The guests lingered on their mats, some slowly flipped through the magazine while others took a sniff of the Susanne Kaufmann Bodywash. Conversations started again, guests started talking about their experience of the last hour: everyone sharing the experience of feeling more calm, of feeling more connected with their inner self. A shared experience of feeling at peace. Read Next Seen by Fräulein #38 A NIGHT AT SCHLACHTER 151 FASHION POSITIONS 2026: Where Independent Fashion Takes Shape
