Pick Of The Week: Beauté Pacifique’s Submersive Serum Paradoxe Founded in Denmark in 1997 by Flemming K. Christensen, Beauté Pacifique grew out of his work with dermatologists and pharmaceutical companies, with a focus on measuring what skincare actually does to the skin. Still family-run, the company is based in Hadsund, a small town in northern Denmark, where its products are developed and produced. Serum Paradoxe launched in 2013, in collaboration with Danish supermodel Helena Christensen and centres on squalane and GSPE, an antioxidant-rich extract from Chilean grape seeds. The formula is distinctly oil-based, with 2 forms of vitamin E alongside ingredients intended to help protect the skin against oxidative stress. It’s designed to address redness and uneven texture, but also has a more immediate, cosmetic function: smoothing the skin and giving foundation something better to sit on.
