FRÄULEIN’S CRUSH: ALAN CROCETTI EAR CUFFS

vor 4 years
There are items that we like, and there are items that we love. There are items we collectively laugh over, bond over, swoon over, and there are definitely pieces we are singularly obsessed with. We have decided to dedicate a weekly declaration of love to particular fashion and beauty items that may not forever be iconic or relevant, but are currently making us feel some type of way. Enjoy the latest obsessions of our editorial team. Welcome to Fräulein’s Crush!

In our fourth installment, we have our beloved fashion intern Marien Brandon giving us his current obsession. To give you a general idea of Marien: coming from Paris, the office finds ourselves collectively swooning over his daily traipses throughout the studio. His personal style exudes romance as well as masculinity (think Interview with a Vampire) so when he chose the jewellery designer Alan Crocetti, it made perfect sense and we all got a little excited. Here’s what he has to say:

“London based designer Alan Crocetti knows how to appeal to me: gender fluidity, incredible jewellery pieces, and a will to break taboos. His spring 2020 collection “Flowers From Exile” features natural yet threatening shapes. It comes as no surprise: I’m in love with the entire collection. If I have to choose a favorite, my grand prize goes to the KNOT SPUR EAR CUFF. This work of art is a statement piece, and it will make you look dreadfully good (even during the summer when we all get a little lazy- when our make up is melting, our clothing is a little sweaty, our hair is frizzing…) Shaped like a spiky flower stalk, this earring can be worn by itself, but layered with other earrings would also be nice. I can’t help but imagine the reaction of my colleagues if I enter the office one day with this on my ear. It is also reminiscent of Fräulein’s logo: the wreath of pikes.

The romantic deadliness of this collection screams “Look At Me But Don’t Approach Me” which is incredibly Berlin. I feel my Parisian softness is waving at me from afar, but I am now ready to rock some weapon-grade earrings. Alan Crocetti offers beautiful design, symbolism, and the opportunity for owners to experiment with layering and mixing different metal tones. I will continue dreaming of this piece, while knowing that perhaps I’m maybe too clumsy to wear such spikes so close to my face anyway.”

The ear cuff can be found here (and it appears there is only one left…)
