Holy Hydration! E.L.F. Cosmetics is bringing moisture back

It’s not a good time for our skin right now, but we are still in luck…

Outside it’s freezing and the cold winter air dries out the skin, inside the heaters are running at full speed for months already and the dry air also affects the moisture balance. The new skincare line from elf Cosmetics Holy Hydration! promises rich moisture, a radiant complexion and plumped skin – sounds perfect to me!

I’ll preface this review by saying that I usually have no problems with my skin. When I’m having a bad skin day, probably no one else will notice it. In fact, I sometimes get compliments on my complexion; I guess I just got lucky. But lately I’ve been waking up with my skin feeling dry and dull. A new night routine was needed! That’s why I tried out Holy Hydration! line, and I am happy to share with our readers my favorite three products.

First step is obviously cleansing. As I’m typically not wearing makeup, the light gel texture of the Daily Cleanser is just enough to remove pollution residue and oil build-ups. It leaves my skin clean and refreshed and can be easily worked into the skin with an electric facial brush, which I enjoy using to massage my face. To remove heavy makeup or waterproof mascara, elf formulated a special Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm (which is actually our beauty editor’s favorite product from this line. She wears a lot of thick brow pomade.)

I actually don’t know what you’re supposed to use first, eye cream or face moisturizer, but for me, eye cream is going to be next in the routine! This one is enriched with vitamins and jojoba oil to deeply hydrate the delicate skin around your eyes. It is also, like every elf skincare product, completely vegan and free of harmful ingredients such as parabens and sulfates which diminishes build up and who wants a layer of preservative on their face?

Lastly, I used the Holy Hydration! Face Cream in the fragrance-free version. It has a thick texture, so you don’t need much, but it quickly absorbs and it’s long-lasting. My problem of waking-up with dry skin is finally solved thanks to the hyaluronic acid, squalene and niaciamide in the cream to plump, brighten and promote collagen production.

Thank you to elf products for sending over this new line. We are sent a multitude of products each month, and this is a collection definitely worth suggesting to our readers. It’s a low price point but it uses ingredients found in much higher-priced luxury lines. We love that it is fragrance-free and that it can be used on a multitude of skin types. A winter must-have for any and all!
