INSTAGRAMS OF THE WEEK 31/07

vor 4 years

This week’s most inspiring, comical, beautiful, strange, culturally relevant, or totally irrelevant highlights our editors found on Instagram this week:

My insta crush of the week is Michaela Stark. She designs lingerie meant to tighten and squeeze around each and every womanly curve, making a quiet statement on the bondage of normal corsetry, and is gloriously unapologetic about her own body. She uses models (primarily herself!) with the flesh you want to bite, lounging in beautiful fields, all tied up in ribbons and bows. Incredible, inspiring, very fresh work. – Janna Shaw, Editor

Coronavirus made wearing masks in public the new normal. But now that it remains mandatory, photographer Ben Toms shows us how to stay ‘fashionable’ during public runway walks: by covering up the whole face. Extra safety! Virus begone! – Olivier Mohrińge, Fashion Intern

Boooooom. That’s it, that’s the message. – Noé Cassi, Art Direction Intern

Florian Hetz is a Berlin-based photographer, who has a back up account, just in case the slugs and oysters disturb the IG aunties. Lots of erotically charged objects, masculine nooks and crannies… I may not always know exactly what I’m looking at, but whatever it is, I know I like it. Hetz presents a new approach to how men and their sexuality are observed and captured. We featured him in our sister publication Numéro Homme’s latest issue. Frame worthy! Janna Shaw, Editor

Vogue Paris is a marketing genius, a Jacquemus x Vogue tee was given with every Vogue Paris August issue sold. They went out of stock within one day. If you’re not a part of the early-birds flock and are still looking for it, I encourage you to search for the magazine in a small press relay in the countryside. There is my tip for a 5€ Jacquemus t-shirt 😉 Marien Brandon, Fashion Intern
