What a head-spinning week! To ease the world’s word overload, we at Fraeulein wish to start a new section, sharing our editors‘ most inspiring, comical, beautiful, strange, culturally relevant, or totally irrelevant highlights on Instagram each week.

Confederate statues are being removed amid protests over George Floyd’s death.
#BlackLifesMatter Movement continues protesting for justice while the House Judiciary Committee started hearing testimonies on police accountability.
Within #PrideMonth, national awareness of LGBTQI* topics came to the forefront. Due to Corona, the annual Pride traditions and parades will be held digitally.
In this new digital age, we also experience London Fashion Week virtually, as an answer to social distancing within the fashion realm.

With constant media coverage and a bombardment of notifications, sometimes our eyes need a break. We don’t call our Instagram-browsing mindless; we scroll with intent mindfulness.

During quarantine, food-focused magazine Luncheon launched an Instagram-series called Lockdown Lunches, featuring various creatives and what their daytime cooking enjoyments look like in the time of isolation. Recipes range from overtly simple, to strangely complex and bemusing.

After weeks of working from bed, this Miyake dress is the dream transition for being back in the office. Disruptive Berlin is a treasure trove of conceptual and avant-garde fashion pieces.

If you’ve ever gawked at a flower arrangement in Berlin, chances are, you can thank Anatomie Fleur. Calling their creations “temporary art”, you can see their buds in locations ranging from the Staatsoper lobby to the Boris Collection. Bunkers look better in bloom.

Besides celebrating Pride, “Fashion Month” has officially begun. Due to social Corona distancing, designers are forced to showcase their collections online this season.

Trade organizations, including the British Fashion Council and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, provide an online platform that allows retail buyers to easily place their orders for upcoming collections.⁠ Over the weekend, there will be numerous panels held by industry professionals.

Chanel started as the first major fashion line to release their latest collection on Instagram, revealing their Cruise 20/21. Chanel originally planned to host their reveal on the island of Capri, but was forced to go digital.

Protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have quickly given rise to expose racism within the daily lives of POC. The demonstrations escalated and hundreds of thousands of citizens around the world stood up against racism and police brutality.

As demonstrators across the world have protested, medical volunteers have stepped forward to aid the injured, ranging from dehydration to tear gas exposure, rubber bullets to direct clashing of citizens vs police.

Protestors even went so far that they started removing statues of colonial slavers starting in Boston. Confronting the city’s racist history, many more statures have been removed by civilists during protests.

Plenty of people taking to the streets especially demanded equality for black trans people. Particularly during Pride Month, these two topics combined to demonstrate furthering of human rights. #BlackTransLives Matter
